2nd Blog Post : Between Families of different culture

The last two short stories, Manuel Arguilla's How My Brother Leon Brought Home A Wife and Francisco Arcellana's The Mats involve what one might term "traditional" Filipino families. Both were also written before World War II.
Choose at least one of the following writing guidelines for your blog post:
1. Pick out one or more common themes or elements from both stories. Discuss what interests you about this/these themes or elements. Do they still occur/exist in the context of the modern family?
2. Compare and contrast the dynamics or relations between families then and now, or between families of different cultures.

For either topic, you will need to draw on relevant materials, such as news articles, blog entries, online videos, advertising, trends, threads and conversations, etc. to prove your point.
Your opinions and insights are important in the grading of this assignment, but don't forget to cite or link to your sources/references.

What i think.

Filipinos back then lived a simple life, normal and the usual. Father goes to work, mother watch over the house, kids go to school basically, normal routine for a family. Back then fortunate one can go to great  schools, the poor ones are on the public ones. The way they communicate is one of the big difference in our time. Back then cellphones are not in the line. Comparing the families back then lived, they lived simple, In our time, family would like to have this and that. Filipinos now somehow could not be contended on what they
have. Kids back then after the occupation started to grow differently. After the WW2 our nation suffer much losses and we got poorer. But still, the values that we have learned stayed.

I referred my Blog to this other blog that i have read. some points that i used are in his blog.

Carlo Bulosan .. Some pride

For me one of the great image that represent our country as of today is Charice Pempengco. The first thing i noticed about her is obviously she's a Filipino, but when she started her career as a pop idol living in the U.S my thoughts of her change.. Filipino pride takes on who we are, what we do, basically giving pride on what can we do as Filipinos. In my opinion Charice nailed this, she clearly can talk in english, can sing well and yes, she can go head on to the top. some singers in the US was blown away because on what she can do. Small but terrible as they says.. She declares something that most of us will do as Filipino's..

Never back Down..  walang atrasan.

She clearly give us the idea that even she's that small, she can go head on to be with the top and th elites.
